It was back to work with a bump this morning. I'm doing this new thing with my TO DO list (it's in caps because it's important) where I start with the worst job on it and work backwards to the best job. That's the idea anyway, and it's sort of working. The job I most wanted to do today was to go through all the photographs from Christmas and New Year and upload a few onto Nest Egg. So it's quarter to nine and I'm just getting started. At least I got the less appealing jobs done first. Tick.
So this is how we rung it in. Farewell 2011, you were a rollercoaster for sure.
There are 8 dogs in this photo. There were 7 people for Christmas Day lunch. Something is not right with that. My husband's family are vegetarian, so we enjoyed nut roast for lunch and the dogs went veggie too. It was a really lovely day although I spent most of the afternoon counting down to Downton Abbey. By the way my pug Alfie is the fawn one with black ears. Super cute one. You'll see some more of him shortly. If you don't like pugs, you probably want to leave this page soon.
Gift giving with some bubbles. The green box with the red seal had two champagne saucers in which I've added to my small but perfectly formed collection. LOVE them.
Amazing roast beef which was all the sweeter after a vegetarian Christmas Day I can assure you.
Parmesan parsnips. So basically my Dad loves parsnips, Mum hates them. She cooks them exceptionally well once a year.
Something a little healthy.
Something a little yummy. Love the Aga.
Alfie looking a bit east/west. Not a great look.
Bradgate Park on one of the days between Boxing day and New Year. No idea which day, but it was cold and windy and we went to the pub afterwards where I ate everyone's chips because I wasn't hungry so I didn't order any.
Reunited with Alfie after he went off with the wrong people. That dog is so dumb.
Learnt to play Risk over the New Year holiday. I also learnt that I am rubbish at Risk and crashed out early doors. The yellow team won, a well deserved victory.
It was a brilliant new year spent with old university friends at Lodge Barn in Norfolk - lots of food, wine, walks to the pub and games including Articulate (ends in a row, always), sh*thead and a spectacular NYE quiz (my team won!)

So let's all get on with 2012. Excited. x
